oceanfollyrainbowsandcali asked: Did you have to like try out to surf in that free people shoot or did they just contact you?

My friend Malia told me about it so we did it together

Anonymous asked: I just followed you because the things you wrote in all those old pictures made me cry. I somehow felt like they were my memories. Never have I ever found a blog that made me have genuine feelings. You are a powerful writer, your blog is tight too.

Anonymous asked: did you ever took part in any photography courses/took lessons?

No, I wish. That would of been so fun

Anonymous asked: have you ever seen a shark while surfing?

Once in tahiti, It was just a reef shark so I wasn’t too worried about it.

We live in a fast paced world.

We want immediate results yet, we often strive for simplicity. Our weekdays consist of classes or work, lunch meetings, and mornings at the gym. On the weekends we find ourselves in the mountains— skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, fishing and horse-back riding. We use those two days off work for sporting events, trips to the beach, lounging by the pool, or going to our favorite concert. With busy and complex schedules, shouldn’t the way you manage your life be simple?

Last Christmas my grandma gave each granddaughter in my extended family a brand new wallet. My old wallet was falling apart and I was thankful for the gift. However, as I transferred all my cards and IDs into my new wallet, I began to wonder if any person would actually use the 22 different pockets that existed in the new wallet. Since I only ever use my debit card and drivers license my new, overpriced, oversized and monotoned wallet began to seem a bit cumbersome and complicated. With three zippers and about a billion secret compartments, I began searching for something that wasn’t so complex.

That’s when I found Thread Wallets, a “functional and fashionable” cardholder that is perfect for my everyday life. With a Thread wallet, I am able to forgo the bulkiness and inconvenience of my old wallet and handbag (which was used to carry said wallet). As crazy as it seems, this simple transition allowed me much more freedom! I can now take my debit card and ID with me anywhere without worrying about carrying or loosing them. The tightly sewn elastic holds my cards in place, making them compact and secure. The key ring allows this wallet to be attached to a belt loop, a lanyard, or the inside of a jacket. The opportunities for functionality are endless.

When I was trying to downsize, I ran into many “smaller” wallets but they all seemed to lack something—character. So another plus? Thread’s creative designs and their option for personalization allow my wallet to travel in style, just like their owner. How many other wallet companies do that?!

Help my friend’s out on Kickstarter!

Anonymous asked: You should write a book, or at least little short stories from time to time on here. I love all your little captions on those old photos you've been posting today. It's so interesting to hear about those little moments captured on camera. So many times we'll come across photos, but often times we don't know the story behind it from the person in the photo. And so often, it's an insignificant moment at the time, but it grows to be so much more as time passes. I think you're a lovely writer.

This is too sweet

My girls. They are all married now or on missions around the world….
